Live music for babies and toddlers

Singing with Esther

Rhymetime is about singing with babies and children. It’s a joyous space to make music together while I play the guitar to accompany our voices. The emphasis is a mix of traditional and new songs which are fun to sing with your child. No-one teaches anything. Children’s learning happens at its own pace and in its own way – some children watch and soak up the tunes and the language, others dance and rock as soon as we start.

I set up Rhymetime in 2003, when I was searching for a high-quality music group for my own baby, with live music rather than a CD.

I also conduct West Gallery music with Bristol Harmony.  I have run music sessions for older people in retirement communities and social clubs and am open to any offers to make music in the community.

I now have three almost-grown children, and am thrilled that so many children who first sang with me in 2003 still say hello and come along to Rhymetime with their brothers and sisters in the holidays. Singing is good for babies, it’s good for toddlers and it’s good for us adults too. Keep singing those songs!
