Rhymetime is about surrounding babies and children with music and creating a joyous space to sing together accompanied by me (Esther) on the guitar. The emphasis is a mix of traditional and new songs which are fun to sing with your child. No-one teaches anything. Children’s learning happens at its own pace and in its own way – some children watch and soak up the tunes and the language, others dance and rock as soon as we start.
I can also be found conducting West Gallery music and playing the oboe for Bristol Harmony.
Rhymetime was set up 2003, when I was searching for a high-quality music group for my own baby. I now have three children, and am thrilled that so many children who first sang with me in 2003 still say hello and come along to Rhymetime with their brothers and sisters in the holidays. Singing is good for babies, it’s good for toddlers, it’s good for children and it’s good for us adults too. Keep singing those songs!
